     Mankind must leave home - Mother Earth.  We must head to the stars!
     The Earth was dying, indeed, there were already areas that were irrevocably dead and beyond recovery.
     Though mankind had established successful colonies on the Moon and Mars, still we must leave.
     Not only Earth, but the whole of Sol System.  You see, the whole thing was going to die a very violent death - eventually.
     Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself.

     Earth, the home of mankind from time immemorial, was finally dying.  We never seemed to learn, despite warnings from knowledgeable sources, until it was too late. 
     Governments were only concerned about their little piece of Earth, and really didn’t care to hear from naysayers concerning any proposed government project, and it's effect on the rest of the world.  By the time it was evident the naysayers were correct, it was too late.  We had destroyed our home world.
     The failure of whole ecology systems in the 21st  and 22nd centuries due to our attempts to control nature - wipe out “nuisance” insects, and plants -  not realizing the effect each species has on all others. 
     Add clear cutting of the forests of the world.

     Thousands were dying every day due to starvation, and disease. 
     Crops were failing, or being overrun by mutated plants, or eaten by mutated insects we had no defense against.  Some gene engineered food plants were mutating into poisonous ones.  Gene manipulated food animals were now causing mutations in the humans consuming their flesh.
     What no one would admit at the time was that modified genes might eventually cause modifications in humans.  Unfortunately, they did - in a disastrous way.  Within 2 or 3 generations after the introduction of the manipulated products, millions of people, including newborn children born to parents who had ingested the genetically altered meat and grain, began to develop ............................

     The experiment was deemed successful after many yottabytes (10²⁴) of data were gathered before the black-hole disappeared.  THEY (the scientists) assumed this was a normal occurrence, since, after all, there was nothing for it to feed on in the collision chamber! 
     However, one of those scientists discovered, some days later, the microscopic damage done as it passed through the collider chamber, through the instrumentation, and on into the earth.  Now Earth .....................
     It was the final nail in Earth’s coffin!
     THEY say we have 8-10 thousand years before we have to worry.  THEY also said there would not be a problem MAKING a micro black-hole!  THEY also said it was safe, and could be contained!
     So Earth was being evacuated, by both government, and private entities.  Would all of mankind be able to be moved .............................

     After fifteen years of design, construction, and crew and colonist selection, the first interstellar colony ship (hull ICS 1), aptly named “Genesis” was launched today!  With a crew of 70, and 435 colonists, it was sent to the “i Boo” system, star catalogue # SAO 45357, located 41.608 light years from Earth, and comprised of a G2V star, just slightly brighter and larger than Sol, with 10 planets.
     Three of the outer planets are gas giants, and planet #4 is earth-like, with a lunar sized moon orbiting it.  The planet is just slightly larger than earth.  
     Probes have shown lush vegetation, and abundant animal life.  No signs of intelligent life were detected.
